A truly custom knife is made to the customer's personal needs and preferences. We begin with a drawing generated by both the customer and myself. The customer then decides what properties are important to him in a knife. Shape, weight, blade thickness, blade material, handle material, and balance are a few properties to consider when building the knife. How the customer will use the knife is one of the major factors that will determine the construction of the knife. We have many grades of stainless, carbon and Damascus blade materials to choose from and hundreds of handle, guard, bolster and pin materials. Your requirements and imagination are the only limits. All knives are available with stands and/or sheaths.
We also offer a wide range of knife scales and other knife-making materials.

| Alaskan ulus
 These ulus, individually handmade by owner Mark Knapp, are both practical and beautiful. Choose from a variety of handles made from laminated sheep horn, musk ox horn, moose antler, fossil ivory or exotic wood, each distinctly different and each with a matching stand. The blade of the ulu is cut from a circular saw blade, polished, sharpened and ready to use or put on display.

| Knife-making and carving materials
 Mark Knapp Custom Knives carries a variety of materials including knife scales ideal for the custom knife maker and carver. Choose from a selection of sheep, antelope and musk ox horns, available in scales or the whole horn. We also stock deer, moose and caribou antlers in points and parts or the whole antler. We carry fossil ivory and exotic hardwoods too.

| Band-saw blades
 We can manufacture any size band-saw blade to order, from one-eighth inch to one-and-a-half inches for wood, metal and butcher applications. Common blade sizes are in stock and any size can be made and shipped within 24 hours.
